San Francisco Here We Come! Thank you to all who worked to put together a very exciting program for our SIG: Teaching Educational Psychology. I want to recognize the important contributions of all the volunteers: reviewers, session chairs, and discussants as well as all those who submitted proposals for consideration. I want to point out some highlights of our program including SIG sessions and our Business Meeting. Please be sure to also examine the online searchable program for more detailed information.
Teaching Educational Psychology SIG received 13 paper submissions – fewer than last year – but of high quality. We have planned two paper sessions composing of 8 papers, four in each session grouped by two themes: Using Beliefs and Perceptions to Inform the Teaching of Educational Psychology, and Innovations in Educational Psychology Instruction and Design. We also have one Poster presentation that investigates Teaching Educational Psychology in Diverse Contexts. Finally, for the first time, we have planned a Round Table Session aimed at supporting new instructors and faculty by sharing Words of Wisdom for Teaching Educational Psychology. The Round Table will feature a diverse group of scholars, faculty, graduate students, and others who will examine the challenges of teaching educational psychology.
The TEP Business Meeting will be held on Monday, April 29 from 6:30 – 8:30pm at the Hilton Union Square. This meeting is integral to the networking among the SIG members, identifying goals for our SIG, sharing resources and ideas, and planning for the coming year.
